Set along the western shore of Lake Como, Villa Balbiano is one of the lake’s most storied and architecturally significant estates. Originally built in the late 1500s and once home to Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio and later Cardinal Durini, the villa stands as a masterwork of Lombard elegance, where centuries of art, music, and literary patronage still resonate within its frescoed walls.
Surrounded by nearly three acres of meticulously landscaped gardens, the estate commands sweeping lake views framed by rose beds, wisteria-draped pergolas, sculptural fountains, and centuries-old trees.
