Cleaning & Housekeeping Policy
1. Is professional housekeeping included with my stay?
Yes. Every stay booked through The Grand Key is professionally prepared in advance of your arrival.
Before check-in, each home, villa, or apartment is cleaned and presented by trained housekeeping professionals to ensure it meets The Grand Key’s standards of comfort, hygiene, and presentation. Fresh, high-quality linens and towels are provided for every stay.
For longer stays, routine housekeeping may be included at scheduled intervals depending on the property and length of stay. Additional housekeeping services, interim cleans, or deep cleaning can be arranged upon request, subject to availability.
Housekeeping and cleaning services are coordinated by The Grand Key. The cost of these services is typically charged to the property Owner as part of the property’s operational management and is not charged separately to guests unless expressly agreed in advance.
2. The Grand Key cleaning and housekeeping standards
The Grand Key applies a consistent, professional approach to cleaning and housekeeping across all properties on our platform.
Our standards include the following principles and practices:
- Professionally trained teams
All housekeeping services are carried out by trained professionals engaged or approved by The Grand Key. Teams are briefed on property-specific requirements and expected to meet clearly defined quality standards.
- Pre-arrival preparation
Each property is fully cleaned and prepared prior to guest arrival, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, and accessible storage spaces.
- Attention to high-contact areas
Frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, switches, taps, controls, worktops, and appliances are thoroughly cleaned as part of every pre-arrival service.
- Ventilation during cleaning
Where practicable, properties are ventilated during cleaning to promote air circulation and freshness.
- Linens and towels
All bed linens and towels are professionally laundered to high standards and replaced between stays.
- Floor and surface care
Hard floors are swept and cleaned, carpets and rugs are vacuumed, and surfaces are cleaned in line with the materials and finishes of the property.
- Hygiene controls
Housekeeping teams follow clear hygiene practices, including the use of appropriate cleaning products and single-use or freshly sanitised materials.
- Health and wellbeing of staff
Housekeeping personnel are not permitted to attend a property if they are unwell or displaying symptoms of illness. All staff are required to follow current health and safety guidance applicable at the time of service.
- Ongoing quality monitoring
Housekeeping performance is monitored on an ongoing basis. Feedback, inspections, and periodic reviews are used to ensure that standards are maintained across all properties.
3. Additional housekeeping during your stay
If you would like additional housekeeping, linen changes, or a deep clean during your stay, The Grand Key can arrange this upon request, subject to availability.
Where additional services are requested by a guest beyond what is included for the property, any applicable charges will be clearly communicated in advance.
4. Responsibility and reassurance
The Grand Key works closely with Owners and service providers to ensure that properties are consistently presented to a professional standard. While the operational cost of cleaning and housekeeping is borne by the Owner, guests benefit from a seamless, well-prepared environment without the need to manage or arrange services themselves.
